Description

Do you want to learn Ancient Greek but don’t know where to start? Or have you already started but have not come far in your journey? Then this class is for you! Together we will read the first seven chapters of the popular textbook “Athenaze”, learning the most frequent vocabulary and grammar not through rote memorization but through listening and speaking. Thus we will slowly develop an intuitive understanding of Ancient Greek, treating it not as an obsolete artifact but as a true, living language.

Karolina Doušová

Karolina teaches Latin and Ancient Greek as living languages in Prague (at Charles University and at “Gymnázium Jaroslava Seiferta”). She has taught various spoken Latin and Greek classes, in person as well as online, e.g. Caelum and Οὐρανός for Cultura Clásica in Madrid, Spain.

How many students are there in each class?

Classes are capped at six students.

What pronunciation do you use?

We use the Erasmian pronunciation of Ancient Greek.

How do I register?

What happens after I register?

You should receive an immediate confirmation email into your inbox. We will then contact you (within a working day), asking you about your experience with Ancient Greek so far as well as giving further information about the course and how to pay.

What payment methods do you offer?

We are currently offering the following payment methods:

Please note that for payments via PayPal or credit card, there will be charged an additional 5% of the course fee to cover the transaction costs.

What happens if I need to cancel the class?

You can cancel your registration any time via email. If you cancel before a class has started, you will receive a full refund of the course fee you have paid minus a ten percent administration fee. If you have to cancel a class that has already started, you will receive a partial refund in direct proportion to the number of classes that you already have attended minus the ten percent administration fee. For example: If you have to cancel half way in of a course, you will receive a 50% refund minus 10% percent of the originally paid course fee.
