Description

Mycellus, the poor cobbler, is really angry: Just when he had the sweetest dream of endless riches, his annoying rooster wakes him up with his crowing. The rooster, however, doesn’t take the blame: Revealing himself to be an incarnation of the philosopher Pythagoras, the rooster tries to convince his master that riches don’t lead to happiness…

“The Rooster” is an absurd story that entwines fantasy with moral philosophy. Lucian at his best.
